Car is not worth for the price. Sales guys just boost about the car while selling. After sales is bad. Very bad mileage. (4.5 km/l) in city. Their shock observers are bad. When I asked about this with service executive, he said it’s very common in...

Buying experience itself was horrible. They promised to deliver car within 4 weeks but then kept delaying till 6-7 months. Looks, performance and all is fine but the main headache is customer service. Absolutely ridiculous service centre staff....

      About MG

MG has marked its debut in India in 2019 with the launch of the Hector. The SUV is their first vehicle in India which will soon be followed by an EV in 2020. The company has set up a new facility in Halol, Gujarat and has plans to open 100 touch points as well as a massive flagship showroom in Gurgaon. Their SUV will rival the likes of the Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson but (in their words) will bring far more to the table. The Hector is locally produced at the Halol plant which was earlier owned by GM Motors. The powertrain of the SUV will be imported from China but MG is looking for 75 per cent localisation, to begin with. The British marque claims that the SUV has been designed and engineered in the UK and China. The second vehicle would be a fully Electric Vehicle (EV) which will be introduced in 2020. Interestingly, the EV will be locally produced and powertrain components would be imported from China. The rest of the upcoming vehicles will receive components from the local companies. The Indian facility will initially produce around 80,000-1,00,000 units a year and will have space to build additional facilities to expand production to 2,00,000 lakh units. In the first phase, MG Motor has brought in SAIC Motor suppliers and have built a vendor park within the plant area itself and in phase two, the company looks forward to increasing the localisation. They will open 100 dealer touchpoints in 2019. This will comprise 3S facilites, showrooms and display facilities depending on the area. The company has got on board 45 dealer partners who will establish the facilities across the country. The final list of dealer partners will be finalised and probably announced by the end of November. This is a part of the plans phase-1 and in phase-2 the automaker has hinted at expanding the number of dealer touchpoints as well as offering financing and allied services for its vehicles.
